The European Commission has begun the process of replacing refrigeration systems with eco-friendly solutions to reduce CO2 emissions and to increase the level of environmental protection. “We wanted to create a framework in which to provide all those working in the refrigeration industry with information on new technologies and solutions to reduce the negative impact on the environment. Reducing CO2 emissions and lowering the refrigerant loss rate are two of the main objectives of the new European regulations. In this context, DAAS’s purpose was to present to all the industry players these details and to identify the most viable solutions, “said Daniel Mocanu, CEO DAAS International Group.
Large manufacturers of refrigeration equipment (Epta) and refrigerants (Honeywell) took part in “Commercial Refrigeration Trends” event, as well as members of the Ministry of Environment or of the General Association of Romanian Refrigerators (AGFR) who described the new European provisions, but also technical solutions and refrigeration systems adapted to market requirements. The conference also featured innovative IoT elements (Internet of Things) that transform simple equipment into intelligent systems, Smart lighting solutions, secure payments and people counting.
“The European rules issued have a preventive role. It is important to make every effort to protect the environment, so that we do not have to deal with the management of an emergency in the event of an environmental disaster. So the tendency is to turn our attention to a green economy and sustainable development to ensure a beautiful future for our children, “said Luminiţa Tirchila, Head of Dangerous Substances and Contaminated Sites Department of the General Directorate of Waste and member of the Council Administration of the European Chemicals Agency.
New solutions for organic refrigerants, as well as their recycling processes, help reduce the global warming index. According to estimates, by 2020 they will progressively replace existing refrigeration systems, which will substantially reduce global CO2 emissions.
